The Cologne branch of the internationally active auditing and consulting company Ernst & Young is to move to new premises located at Börsenplatz 1 in the spring of 2013. The new location will help them to realize the company’s expansion plans.
Lease Agreement for 6,000 m²
Shortly before the end of the year, Ernst & Young GmbH and AXA Lebensversicherung AG (life insurance) signed a lease agreement for approximately 6,000 square metres of office space. The decision to lease premises in Börsenplatz is a result of the work performed by Greif & Contzen Beratungsgesellschaft in cooperation with Greif & Contzen Immobilienmakler GmbH who were commissioned to carry out a thorough location search.
Modernised Historical Building from the 1950s
The premises at Börsenplatz 1 were built in the early 1950s by the architect Wilhelm Riphan and are now listed buildings. In 2004 / 2005, extensive modernization work was carried out including development work on the courtyard. As a result, old meets new with the premises historical flair being complemented by state-of-the-art office equipment.
Banking Quarter Continues its Ascent
The premises most distinguishing feature is their excellent location in the city centre’s traditional banking quarter. The main train station and the city’s famous cathedral can be reached on foot. The public transport links and the road infrastructure are optimal. In the immediate vicinity, there are several leading companies and institutions such as Cologne’s Chamber of Commerce, UBS, HypoVereinsbank, Generali, Merck Finck & Co. and Erzbistum Köln.
