New vehicle depot for technical relief agency

Greif & Contzen arranges for around 1,450 square metres to be let to the Institute for Federal Real Estate in Bornheim

The local group of the technical relief agency (Technisches Hilfswerk, THW) in Bornheim is moving into new premises. For this purpose, the Institute for Federal Real Estate (BImA) has rented a commercial facility of just under 1,450 square metres on Gutenbergstrasse in Bornheim. In addition to the 400 square metre hall for the THW vehicles, the premises also comprise around 616 square metres of outdoor areas and around 432 square metres of office space for use by the administration staff. The lease started in February 2018, the transaction was brokered by the real estate experts from Greif & Contzen. The landlord is Hommelheim GmbH. BImA is the central service provider for federal real estate. The newly rented commercial property is a perfect match, as the premises previously used by the technical relief agency were also located in Bornheim, so the agency will only need to relocate within the town.

The THW has been active in Germany for around 60 years now, providing humanitarian and technical aid after accidents and disasters, with 668 local groups, 66 regional offices and eight state associations. The Bornheim branch of the THW was established more than 20 years ago.
